I finally hung the Gen 2 over my 180 fish room tank (my 180 display is in my living room) and it looks great. This tank is currently lit by 3 Mars Aqua so I turned off the blues on the Mars Aqua and turned on the Orphek and there is no comparison. The color of the blues from the Orphek definitely make the tank POP. One thing I noticed since this light has 90 degree lenses it would have to hang above the water by 12" to disperse evenly. Since I like to keep my lights low as possible I will definitely be ordering 120 degree lenses when the five foot fixtures come out. The Gen two looks great with a cover that fills in around the lenses. The only complaint is I would like to see a manual controller which would require a 0-10v driver? And Todd as soon as I get a PAR reading I will get the light back to you.I just loaned the Gen2 120cm, 90 degree with almost final spectrum Blue Plus to @alton yesterday. He's run LED for a long time including Build Your Own LED. He may have some comments. He also owns an older Gen1.
I was told you can take the lenses off. Curious if you may want to try that to see what the spread looks like?I finally hung the Gen 2 over my 180 fish room tank (my 180 display is in my living room) and it looks great.
