Sounds awesome. The hair, not the beer.

Lactose in Beer?? Something about that just screams STOP to me.

2 days in a row with zero signs of cyano. I'm not sure where it went, but hopefully it knows it's not welcome back. Didn't even have to set up a sterilizer.

All four of the tangs are in this picture, and I did water testing two days in a row.

I must not be feeling well.

I threaten a lot of things without having to follow though lately. Spooky Pete (or his pals) started acting up at work again a couple weeks ago and I walked from receiving to the front of the store threatening sage and palo santo unless he got his butt back in line.

What does he do for the strong reminders
You know when you have those days where you feel like everyone is absolutely losing their minds? Imagine that in retail. Imagine pretty much every customer arguing with you about the most obvious & inane things. Like what color an item is for example, or whether or not a certain animal in your building should be allowed there, or they're absolutely certain they purchased this item that your company has never sold in the 15 years you have worked for them from your company last week - and they're willing to die on that hill. You yell at Pete to get it together, and the customers go back to just being varying levels of stupid instead of every single one being problematic.

They used to call this store the graveyard, the circulating story was that it was built over an Indian burial ground and the spirits were crazy angry still.

This is actually the first one I've worked in where whomever resides in the building doesn't throw or move things. He just randomly makes our customers enraged.

That got fun to read quick!

Yes I definitely know those days! Remember at the end of the day you've got dope hair and questionable taste in milky beer!

I'm now up to dosing 26ml a day of calcium and still not hitting 450

Dkh is still only at 7.5 and that had a correction dose to up it .2 and increased daily dosage. All I did was maintain where I began.

These guys are killing me

Anyway, shared these two on Frank's thread but here they are on my own. Thinking about looking for another cynarina in a similar color scheme but different color in general to complement and add into the duo.

I've saved so much money on my "let the tank grow out" pause.

Tank is doing good. Going to get a few more conch I think. No more cyano since I threatened UV. I still get a little bit of haze in the water occasionally but I'll keep an eye on it and see if it clears up on its own.

Someone did some digging. Found a few dead frag plugs the urchin removed after application and lost (that's when they died) somewhere all scattered in the front of the tank this morning.

Posted this elsewhere: but now that I've figured it out here it goes for my records.

Calcium is plummetting. Yes, coralline is having a growth spurt, but more importantly my crocea is having an insane growth spurt! She closed up some as I reached in to grab something the urchin knocked loose and I noticed she has nearly a half inch of new growth. Between her, the stunner, and the coralline - I think I know where my calcium has been going

Alk is up to 8 now, been taking that increase slowly, I'm a lot closer to sorting that out than the calcium.

I'll test both again tomorrow and see where we're at.

That clam is the culprit. They can chug through calcium and alk.

As the clam gets bigger will it consume more alk and calcium or do they grow at a steady rate? Will Calcium and alk consumption became more predictable or is a guessing game week by week?

It was in here about 2 months before things started to change. I haven't gotten it stabilized yet, still working on that. We'll see if this weekend let's me make sense of it all. Alk is getting closer, I increased daily dosage and that seems to keep it stable - I just need to supplement to get it back where I want it because it's still lower than the tank is used to, ca seems to be all over the place still.
