Sending off my test on the peninsula, time to hop back on the moonshine train for the big tank at least. Once I'm back in the swing of it with that, I'll likely pick it back up for the cube as well. The softies did benefit in the mixed reef I ran it on in the past. Gorgs loved it.

Having a pony problem. When I set up the cube I got nero 3s as recommended by a ton of research into ponies. I don't necessarily love the powerheads, but they work really well. Except... suddenly the ponies are hitching through the FRONT and getting their tails caught. Every cover I'm finding for them leaves the front wide open. Right now they're turned off because I'm not certain how to proceed. They've been in here over a month without problem, then suddenly 2 different ponies one on each powerhead :rolleyes:

Spent the morning watching a hermit try to defend itself from a tang who kept almost knocking him over trying to eat the algae off his shell.

I'm working on trying to design something that juts out further from the front of it so that it doesn't disrupt the flow but gives a buffer so they can't reach the blades with their tails

Some basic sticks, some polyps, and because it doesn't feel correct unless they're present - a leather or two.

I've always wanted one of these jerks and never had them successfully settle into a tank. Hopefully this one does. It has fluffed up faster than any previous attempt. Fingers crossed.
