Oh we finished the coop last week.... working on the run build after work and on days off. 3 walls assembled, need to build the door, end wall, and roof support still. All the blocking is in place already (not pictured here)

Coop outside - we're actually planning on building a small awning for that little window as well.

What a week. Spent yesterday attaching all the hardware cloth and putting up the walls.

Wednesday the plan is to prep the inside for the girls (mulch in the run, hemp bedding in the coop itself, set up nesting boxes, get some run roosting bars set up, etc).

Sunday some friends are coming over to help install the run roof - it's big and we're both short.

Then hopefully we can move the girls over.

In other news, my thumb is finally closed up so I can get back to tank maintenance that requires hands in water.

Did some glass cleaning last night on all 3 of the tanks. Need to do a water change on the toadfish tank.

Need to get my hands in the pony tank and start plucking algae again

Right before vacation I ordered rollers to replace all the rolls in both the cube and peninsula, then I opened up my thumb almost to the bone and couldn't do the maintenance. I'm going to have yet another scar on that hand, but it's closed up finally so hopefully tomorrow I can get into both tanks and get the rollers replaced.

The algae in the peninsula refugium seems to have suddenly stagnated and isn't growing anymore, I'm very confused about that...

Trying really hard not to buy baby chicks.

I think Matt might kill me... but I have a hen who keeps going broody. We've broken it 3x now and she's in the cycle again.

We're not gonna talk about how I need to clean in here....

Got a cheap camera for the pony tank and the peninsula.

Just tested the pony one - going to clean the glass before I really set it up though.

Run has the roof on, the hens are moved over. The quail cage went inside as well.

The ramp had pieces added for grip since that photo was taken, it started off a slide lol.

Moved their camera over, because why not....

Pony tank got maintenance done. Plucked algae and thick goop. Fixed roller (scraped out a million vermetid snails). Installed camera for real. Decided to go with the side so it's not obstructing my view when I'm in the room

Now I guess it's time to work on the peninsula maintenance and camera installation.

I need to get my backyard done so that this winter I can get chickens and quail again. I'm thinking about digging a pit and burying a tote for climate control. I might try rabbits as well. Probably not but I want to.
