I thought skimmer pulls crap out if the water. So your saying that it does just not in significant amounts?
No matter how much fiddling with mine I do, it rarely seems to pull much. I know levels are set properly. I'll see it pull when the engineer does a big remodel and stirs up a lot from the sand bed or if I do a really heavy broadcast feed but that's about it now.

Sounds like it pulls crap out when there is crap to pull out. Can you set up the skimmer on a timer so its not forgotten. Then you feed your fish more to feed your coral with lots of fish poop.

This turned into a crappy post. LOL

Don't socks do that if you change them often
Yeah, couple things on that
1. I hate the maintenance involved with socks
2. I always let them go too long and I'm sure the stuff caught in them started to break down and just be a problem in my tank anyway.
3. The roller is finer rating than any of the socks I've used, and pulls the used up out of the water so it's not hanging out to just continue to break down in the tank.

They do, but think daily in order to prevent any break down. Most rollers move a hair many times throughout the day. This pulls the mess above the waterline each time it moves.

Oh, and I found a random sps growing in my tank that I can't get a photo of because my lights reflect too much in that area

I *think* I remember which frag it was, but I'm waiting for a little more growth before I commit. It definitely "died" on account of hairy mushroom suffocation - I thought. Cannot see it unless I'm looking top down.

I know where this is gonna go. But I'm gonna go there anyway.

Time for a top down picture.
I'll mess around this weekend and see if I can get the angle right to not catch the LEDs glaring off it. My device I have for top down photos doesn't quite fit my phone so I can't lay it flat and reduce glare
