Upgraded my brute mixing station to these two 105gal ace roto mold containers once my 200gal build was completed.

Here is my somewhat compact “nano” setup.

I can store 7 gallons of fresh, have 7 gallons of mixed, and can make more if needed. Enough for my weekly 5-6G water change

Powered by a Sicce Syncra 3.0.

Controls:

Transfer
: rotates ball valve and turns pump on to send water to mixing tank. This procedure will be programmed to end when either the RODI tank hits low float or Salt tank hits high float.

Cancel: simulates end of transfer, ball valve will rotate back to original position towards Salt tank and pump turns off.

Fill: signals solenoid on RODI line to open and fill RODI tank to high float. This is primarily for when the salt tank needs to be refilled and RODI tank is not full.

Mix: signals pump to turn on and run for set amount of time on Salt tank. This will be used when adding new salt after a transfer.

Hi love your setup. I watched both videos and tried to read the model of the electric ball valve but can't read it. Do you have a link or part # on it? Thx.

Thanks! For this setup I used a valve from Assured Automation:

It's a great valve though a little limiting in functionality being only ON/OFF. I'm using different automated valves on my current setup, valves from Valworx and actuators from flea-bay:

Mine is kind of simple compared to some of these. I use brute trash cans on their dolly's. All the bulkheads are in the lids. The photo below is the one for DI storage but the other 2 are similar. There are no holes made in the can itself.

below is the other side of the lid. There is an empty and full float switch installed. There is a float valve installed on the fill line form the RODI just in case there is a float switch failure. Also the fill time will time out if it takes too long to fill sending an alert and shutting off the RODI.

Below is the fresh salt water tank used for AWC. There is a pump also installed to dispense water into another container if I need some for some other reason. the other two tanks have a pump like this also. The DI one is for dispensing into other container like this one. The one in the mix tank is to transfer what is in the mix tank to the fresh salt water tank when needed. Yes I do use Reef Crystals. I do occasionally clean out the cans.

Below is the top of the mix tank. It has a fill float on the RODI line like on the DI tank. it also has the two float switches. The black box has the electronics in it for a water level sensor. All three tanks have these also. They are not too accurate but do give me an idea how much water is still left in the tanks. When the go to 0 on the DI or fresh salt water tank i usually only have a day or two before the empty float switch triggers a refill. The DI tank will go about 23 days before it refills. The fresh salt water tank last around 4 weeks.

The three tanks are kept under my workbench in the garage. Photo below. The controller will automatically refill the DI tank when it gets low. it will also automatically transfer the water from the mix tank to the fresh saltwater tank when the fresh salt water tank goes low if the mix tank is ready to use. Once it has transferred the water from the mix tank to the fresh saltwater tank it will automatically refill the mix tank and reset the mix tank ready latch. All I have to do is add the salt mix to the mix tank and press a button to set the latch when it is ready to use again.

Below is a photo of the control board in the garage. The left side has the controllers and modules and the right side has the pumps for ATO, AWC and dosing. It also has the solenoids for the RODI control. The RODI is on a wall to the right in the photo out of view.
