Calmwaters Pico Build

Yesterday I also added 3 or 4 of each kind of the snails I ordered in the 70 gallon all algea package from reef cleaners so hopefully they will keep it clear of algea. Today I will be getting an order from Dinkins and I will be adding phyto and copos to the build.

I added a small Snacklebox bottle and some phyto from Dinkins. I'm still waiting on an order of more microalgea I got off ebay. I'm thinking about adding a rock to the right side where the frag rack is to put the zoas on and maybe put the biggest frag on the back glass to see if it will grow there. The RFAs have moved just a little since I put them in but are mostly in the same spot. I am hoping the one near the top will move a little more around to the front so I can see it better.

Update for my pico tank. Today I did a water change, did some rearranging and added another rock to attach the zoas to. It was a bit of a challenge to place the rock on top of the one on the left in a manner so as not to squish the RFAs. I wish they would stay where they currently are because I can see them all but I doubt they will.

Very nice Amanda. I am in love with your RFAs. :star-struck:

Love your rfa garden. I have been thinking about doing one on an island when I upgrade because a lot of mine have moved to places I have trouble seeing them.

You should! I don't think you would regret it.

Here are some of mine but they have moved out of sight for the time being except for this drab green one. I ordered it from a picture of a light blue disk and white skirt. I contacted the vendor and he said it wasn’t a wysiwyg one and they try to send one as close to the picture as they can. I don’t think they tried very hard and it is a way to sell the ones no one wants to buy. I posted pictures earlier on the Smorgasbord that I found two babies after I fragged my chalice and one looks like it is from the one on the top and the other the one on the right.

I think they are lovely and it's not drab at all!

I just ordered some more sexy shrimp since only 1 of the original order made it and some dwarf Ceriths from reef cleaners. I also ordered a Porcelain Crab from saltwateraquarium.com to use a credit I have with them. And finally I messaged with the folks at Biota and they said my tank would be great for a trio of upside down gobies so I went ahead and ordered them. Those will be it as far as inhabitants for the pico other than maybe a coral or two or more RFA's. For those like me that had never heard of the upside down gobies until @tbrown told me about them I have included a picture. At least I'm 99% sure it was Tim... if not please forgive me.

I'd that a Trimma species? Oh, now I'm going to have to go to the Biota site...

It may have been John or Mike. Maybe even Luis. Beautiful fish though!

Good news and bad for my pico. First good news. All 5 of the sexy shrimp and the porcelain crab seem to be doing great. I caught a glimpse of the bigger of the 3 upside down gobies this evening and he seems to have claimed the rock on the right with zoas. Bad is i still haven't seen the two smaller ones. More bad is that with the help of my chosen family members on #Smorgasbord we the growth of Bryopsis algea. Good news is hopefully we caught it in time before it becomes a bad problem and I cleaned out what I could and treated with reflux for any i couldn't see. More bad is I lost one of my RFA's and I think when it died today it messed with the others Brevard they are not happy this evening. Good is after a water change they are now looking slightly happier.
