Hey friends, I just received an impulse sale buy via UPS that clearly was not a fun trip for the clam.

It is in what I would describe as "advance" gaping i.e. shell completely open, mantle receded, "mouth" gaping allowing full view of inside of shell. I will try to post pics once it is out of the bag... I'm honestly worried my shrimp will swarm it while it is such a state.

I only have one clam (maxima) and have never had it gape soooo I'm wondering -- is it possible to bring a clam back from such a state?

EDIT:: Nevermind, opened the bag and the smell alone answers my question. RIP : (
