Can you mix lighting?

Lots of reefers mix their lighting. If you like it and your corals like it then I see no problem.

100% yes.

Now for me, aesthetics are quite important, so I probably won't ever mix lighting.

Sure you can but make sure par is ideal

i worry it would look a lot different if it is a gen 4. gen 5 is much more similar to the gen 6. it will be fine for corals just might look odd
