Hey guys,

I recently got a couple of trial run corals a mushroom and a candy cane.

I got the candy cane coral as you see in the picture. I'm new to coral and wanted to see if the stem is supposed to be this color. The heads on the coral are not dead and have not changed since I got them.

This is just a temp holding in a QT tank for now. This tank has been up since May last year.

Could it just be algae? Just want to make sure.

You can tell it came off a well established colony. In time you will see bright green skin grow down the old skeleton as new heads look for room. Should be a solid ball of heads in 2-3 months.
