Good evening everyone

Having some trouble with my candy cane. Already made a post about 4 months ago, and the candy cane is in my system for half year.
Its receeding more and more, for more than two months now its looking like in the picture, almost completely gone. But its still hanging on.
I tried putting it in different places, low and medium flow, low, medium and high light but nothing is working. I spot feed it twice a week and do weekly water change.

My last parameters:
Alk 7.6
Salinity 1.025
Temp 24.6
Phos 0.1
Nitrates 24, about a month ago, for sure its lower now because i measured after stopping on waterchanges for a month.
Calcium 415
Mag 1440

Any ideas what could be the issue or what i can try to help it? It gives me hope that its still hanging on like that for 2 months.
I circled in red the current position of it.

Thanks in advance!

Is it getting enough light tucked away like that under the leather (or maybe its the camera angle ?)
I just moved it there a few days ago, before i had it in the spots that i marked with green circles. I kept it in each spot for about a month to see if it changed anything. In no spot could i see any improvement.
I put it in all kinds of flows and lights. But of course i can move it again.

Your parameters look good that leaves light and flo. If it isn’t already move it to moderate par and flow.
But i will try and move it again tonight or tomorrow.
Behind the leather was just a test, because i read they need low light. I thought maybe it was getting too much

This is mine in moderate light and flow, in the top third of my tank. Good luck, I hope you can bring it back.

Thank you! I will try to find a similar spot with moderate flow and light in the top third

As you can see, mine is at the same spot as my duncan, maybe to the right of yours? It’s strange, sometimes certain corals just don’t do well in certain tanks even when it doesn’t make sense. I have always struggled with mushrooms, considered beginner corals, even though I have an lps dominant tank with a couple easy sps. I’ve given up on ricordia after watching half a dozen slowly shrivel up and disappear over the years.

My duncan exploded with growth, so i guess thats a good spot for it. Will try to move the candy cane beside the duncan and see if theres any improvement.
Thank you for your assessment!

Remember it will take time and they are in bad shape. You can try spot feeding when lights are out, that’s when mine have their feeding sweepers out.

I will try that too. Usually i spot feed when lights are still on, but i will try with lights out. How often do you spot feed yours? I do twice a week

I was just getting ready to move the candy cane this morning, but i saw it opened up a bit more than ever in the last 5 weeks.
So im thinking maybe i leave it in this spot for a bit more to see if it bounces back. If i dont see any improvement i will try to move it though.

Wanted to post a quick update. I moved the coral again, closer to the duncan.

I checked my last icp and saw that a few trace elements were low, plus to keep alk more stable i decided to dose AFT about 3 weeks ago, maybe a month.
It drastically changed the health of most my corals, especially on the candy cane.
So here is a current pic, taken about 30 minutes ago.
