Hello,

My Catalaphyllia coral has been very closed the last 2 weeks, i have it for a couple months now & it used to be very large & beautifull but now it looks like this (see pic).
It's a frag from a friend's coral, mother coral is still alive & kicking.
What could be happening?..

I redipped it 2 days ago & moved it somewhere else, but no improvements (yet).

i also added my ICP test i did last week.

You mean the toxin they carry?
No its a "disease". Couple ways I have seen that could treat it. Is it creating a bunch of slime or white/brown gunk? Look up the elegance coral syndrome I'm sure you find options. Fwiw none of the options worked in the past for me maybe I waited too long.

No it is not, it’s actually starting to open up a little more again, but still very small.

Thats good. I love them but have had poor luck with them in the past. Currently I have one going on 7 months now and its doing good probably the longest I have been able to keep one alive.

Are any of your fish nipping at it? One of my dinner plate sized Elegance corals was really shrunken up all of a sudden, and I couldn't figure out why. Then I discovered my "reef safe" Yellow Pyramid Butterfly was taking nibbles out of it every 10 min.

Moved the Elegance to another spot in the system (where the Pyramid Butterfly can't easily get to it), and so far, that has worked. It has rebounded beautifully.
