Hi I am new to the forum and this is my first build by myself (mostly my husband butt in a little ).
So I had decided to build this tank as my husband has left the country to go to school so I wanted something that would challenge me and something that I enjoyed. I have dabbled in saltwater before but it was always mainly my husband doing all the work and I just enjoyed the results of his labor. I have had this tank going now for several months.
I started it with dry rock and Fiji pink live sand. Upgrades include a intank chamber 1 media basket with chemi pure elite, ruble pieces and filter floss. I upgraded the stock pump with a sicce .5 pump and a power head. I also ditched the stock tank light and hood recently with an ai prime and custom lid from kraken reef.
For critters I have:
1 royal gramma
1 wheelers shrimp goby
1 pistol shrimp
1 skunk cleaner shrimp
2 sexy shrimp
1 feather duster worm
Reef hermits and snails (astrea, nassarius, and cerith)
Also I have a bunch of different corals that my husband had fun shopping online for.
So far everything seems to be going smooth other than when I went though the ugly stage which wasn't too bad.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome! I have good news my acans have some growth! This is exciting for me as I had them under the stock light for about a month before getting the ai prime which I have had about a week now. So I am happy it is doing well and growing! All the hard work is paying off

Really impressive setup! I’m impressed with the coral assortment you have there. I’ll be grabbing my first SPS this weekend (monti digitata most likely). Love your rockwork too!
Thank you! The coral is thanks to winning aqua sd frags on eBay and frag packs from their website. Good prices!

So quick update:
I unfortunately lost my wheelers shrimp goby he somehow managed to shoot himself through the kraken lid even though the mesh is pretty small

I went to my local fish store to get some more filter floss and saw a beautiful yasha goby that somehow managed to find itself bagged up and going home with me to partner up with my candy cane pistol tha has been lost without his goby. So welcome to the tank little goby!

Sorry about your loss. The width of the mesh on the Kraken had me worried about smaller fish. Sorry you experienced it.
I was surprised the goby got through it I knew he was a little smaller but dang he flew through the lid just right unfortunately

Quick Update:
So I am puzzled my sps are encrusting their frag plugs nicely but the coralline algae doesn't want to spread all across the tank... oh well I will take the sps doing well rather than figure out how to grow algae.

This is my beloved "fat sticks" as I call it completely encrusted his frag plug and is moving onto the frag rack. Gotta get the 75 going so we can get him settled. The new sps frags are settling in well one came bleached in the mail but is still alive just recovering. Hopefully the new dudes do as well as my buddy here.
Here are some other frag pics for tonight for eye candy and progress shots:

(You can definitely tell which one bleached )
