So, I've just come across something weird today. So at the beginning of the day I see a cerith snail riding on top of another cerith snail. Just now, I saw it again...This time on the front glass just before I went to turn my room lights off for bed. Just wondering, are they fighting? My thoughts not likely. Are mating? Probably pretty likely. Are they just having fun? Maybe, maybe not, but it's fun to believe that they are! I just missed them because when I got the camera out they split up.

I don’t know how their mating works but if they are you’ll see egg clusters pop up everywhere. The first I seen was on the rocks and now only on the glass (I’m guessing because hermits can’t get to them).

They’ll look like this

I've seen the same tiny little egg clusters on my glass in the morning. Ceriths always on glass at night. Question is do they actually reproduce in the rear like trochus do?
Mine haven't laid on the glass yet...I wish they did though. So much easier to monitor or clean them.

I haven’t seen any babies yet but I know people who have had success with them being tank breed. I love the little guys so I’m very hopeful them show up one day. Might get rid of my hermit crabs then!

No babies here yet either! However I was surprised on the 2nd day I had them, they laid eggs. I've heard that success rate with breeding is moderate to hard with these snails.
