Hello....my favorite chalices are about to meet. I didnt plan well. I had a bad prior experience with the same thing so yeah...I didnt learn! Last time one attacked the other stinging it beyond recovery. Splitting the rock will be a challenge. Perhaps I can trim each one. Does anyone have any experience/suggestions with this sort of thing. Is there a chance they wouldnt fight and just sorta blend? Unlikely...I know. Thanks!

You can monitor them and see if they play nice together. If not, are you able to chip one of them off the rock at the base? You could use a flat tip screw driver.

Im pretty sure the skeleton bonded on the rock....but it might be an option to at least chip part of it. But I feel like it'll be pretty messy! But challenging situation overall. Just hoping somebody has experienced the "play nice" thing you mentioned! Thanks for your feedback!

They both look to be the same species (Echinophyllia echinoporoides) so there's a chance they won't fight each other

A piece of epoxy in between them, then you break it off and replace it as they grow if you are worried. I would just monitor and see how it goes though.
