hey guys. I have one on order and wanted to spruce up the plumbing a bit. What size pvc pipe does it use? I wanted to change all the pvc and fittings to orange. Also what size are the drain and return bulkheads? If anyone has modified the plumbing for these tanks please any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the reply. I’m a dummy when it comes to all these different plumbing fittings. Does anyone know what part I would need to convert hard plumb both the drain and return. I want to change to US pvc pipe sizes but am clueless of what part I would need.

Also if I were to go with the painting route what would be a reed safe paint that won’t leach anything out over time of being in the water?

You need a 25mm to 3/4 inch adaptor for the return and a 32mm to 1 inch adaptor for the overflows.

You can buy from BRS:

you do need those adapters, however they aren't the only part you will need. The size of the adapter on the metric side is the same size as the pipe, so you will need to slide it into some kind of metric fitting. It's unfortunately not as easy as just cutting the metric pipe and attaching the adapter. :(

I used the vertex conversion union successfully. Nothing else needed.

good to know, I used the metric adapter which is simply a tapered tube...then had to find other parts...was a pain.

Found what you used...wish I had seen this in time!

So would this be what I would need to replumb the system? I’m really excited to get the tank but just dreading the plumbing. I want to change up the colors of the plumbing like Wrasse cal did with the red pvc and white fittings but this metric size really makes it difficult to do so. If Waterbox had a suggestion box I would recommend that they include or at least offer to sell optional plumbing parts to do so. I’m wondering for what reason would they use metric plumbing??? Arghh!

Seems like these are better bets than what I used, I would say they are a good choice.

Hey guys. For the return is it a 25mm or 28mm?I’m looking for the part on BRS because Waterbox told me the return is 28mm. However can not find that size as the closest one is 25mm
