Anyone else find it strange that a thread involving food has existed for more than 15 minutes and @jsker is no where to be found?
Do you really want to go there?:eek::D

Oh you forgot portage's in the choices.

Chili is like politics, everyone has there own. It is best to stay one the outside and enjoy:rolleyes::D:D especially with a cold beveage

I entered my chili into a company competition as a fund raiser last year. Judges said my chili had the best flavor but it was too thick to be considered a chili. o_O
Maybe that is just a northern Alabama thing. Life is a bit different here! ;)
There was a fix in.

You aren't going to like my answer... I think chili should be it's own entity. It doesn't fit either category very well. It shouldn't be watery. It should be mostly meat with just enough moisture to get the crackers soggy.

If you don't sweat when you eat it, it isn't chili!

Chunky meat, ground meat doesn't matter, but meat needs to be the primary ingredient! Gotta have chili powder, and cumin in it. Without the cumin it doesn't taste like chili, with the cumin it becomes amazing. Nearly every other ingredient is arbitrary.

You don't have to like my answer, but I'm a chef so I don't really care if you eat my chili or not! More for me!

Can we say chili dogs and oven roasted fries

You just had to go there didn't you, now I've changed my mind on what I want for dinner. Trying to be good these next days before thanksgiving , it was going to be fish;)

Fish are friends not food!!!!!!!!!

I am generally very suspicious when the cafe at the local aquarium offers "fish of the day" on their menu.

Trigger fish with a lemon butter sauce, is so much better then even lobster.
