I have a 55 gal corner tank with

2 clown
1 yellow watchman goby
1 Catalina goby

I really want to add more movement to the tank. I have plenty of corals but I need some more fish I feel.

What would you reccomend other than chromis?

All opinions welcome!!!

I would avoid them cause they can be pain later.
You have room for a tang..like yellow, hippo or purple.
Fire fish are nice, small and can be kept in pairs.
Bourbons can also be nice and they do well in smaller system like yours.

I guess depend on what you trying to get, movement or colors...
For me tangs give both..

Kept tangs since I had 40g breeder 10 years ago. But I get your argument. One tang is ok thu and very helpful for algae.

Btw is puffer reef safe? I think not..

The tank is too small for any tang.

My Sharpnose does just fine in my tank. I just feed him plenty, and leaves everything alone.

I would not put any tang in there. If you want movement, go with a flasher wrasse. If you want algae control, go with a tailspot blenny. Mine is awesome to watch cruising around my tank

If you want movement, get a wrasse. I nominate a 6-line or yellow coris wrasse for the job. Here’s “banana” in my 55g

My valentini is a model citizen in my reef. He’s my favorite fish in there and was worth the risk. He’ll eat krill out of my fingers. Has never nipped a coral or touched a hermit or snail.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Now question is, is your puffer a good representation of valentini puffers in general or more of an odd ball...
I honestly do not know the answer here.
I keep loads of sps and just cannot afford the gamble ha ha.

I agree with staying away from tangs for a 55. Way to small of a tank. I would only go with fish that would stay fairly small.

Dartfish, not firefish species, but zebra, blue, or green dartfish, initially shy, then stay out most of the time. Redtail cardinal fish or meicanthus blennies
