Clove polyps control?

So recently I purchased a frag of fireworks clove polyps.

is it possible to “control” their spread by placing them between more aggressive corals such as chalice.

unfortunately I don’t have another “island” rock to put mine on.

Yes- Set a barrier with superglue or scrub with toothbush. Tuxedo urchins will also munch on them
