I have looked at several pictures online, but I am having trouble identifying what this could be... can anyone help?

I believe that is Brooklynella, im almost sure of it.

Its an ich type parasite

Put him in QT with the same water as my 75g his dark spot came loose and he died

I'm sorry to see that, Foofer77.

Brook can usually be defeated pretty handily, but I've never seen it peel away the fish's entire skin like that - thinking this was a worse-than-usual case.
