Bought from a friend a 2 year old female clownfish, since 2 month she’s not eating very well only pods and creatures from the tank, she’s hungry all day but not interested in frozen, pellets or flakes. She only takes brine shrimp also dry brine shrimp. She’s very skinny also you can see marks (hlle) because of the bad conditions my friend had her. ( no feeding) what can I do? I don’t what to feed more brine shrimp cause it’s having me a trouble on phosphate, also she’s not getting better on that food. (Also try vitamins C from brightwell aquatics and more stuff…) Also water conditions Ok, temp Ok.
Please help.

Clowns generally dont get HLLE but do get pits and bruising. Will need Brighter pics under white light intensity - No blue for clear i.d.

Not sure why you are seeing a spike in phosphates over feeding live brine, in and of itself live brine lacks a lot of nutrients. Soaking in phytoplankton and or selcon to gut load will greatly increase their nutritional value as without I have heard them compared to potato chips for humans.

I am not a strong proponent of flake or dried foods, but feed frozen and live myself.

If not getting a feeding response to frozen, you might try soaking in garlic as that tends to enhance the feeding response.

Welcome to the reef! I dont think you should be seeing any problems feeding live brine, even freeze dried shouldn't be much of a problem. Use one of those dish breeders and you will have a constant supply of baby brine without much headache.

Welcome, sorry about the clown,as mentioned above soak in Selcon and Vitachem to make it more nutritious. Products like Garlic Extreme are supposed to boost appetite add a drop also to all foods. Good luck!

Thanks mate, I actually already try everything, but there’s no response either from the garlic extreme or selcon..
