College reefer here. Except I am a graduate study, which makes me poorer. lol.

I would suggest you decide on a hard budget and track every expense on a spreadsheet. That will help you stay under or on budget.

The best place to buy used reef equipment is fb marketplace. Can't beat the prices there vs the r2r buy/sell forum.
