i am switching from the nova extreme pro 6 bulb fixture to (2) 250 vho mh's. i currently have all of my corals on the sand in the bottom of the tank.

i dont have my hanging canopy built yet so i have the new fixture sitting on top of two 2x4's til i can get it hung.

i tried using a few sheets of black porch screen on top of the tank but its getting too hot and it started feeling gummy like it was going to melt....

soooooo...... do i have to use something else to try to acclimate the corals to the lighting or is it acclimation enough to have them all on my sand bed to get used to the light. and then slowly moved them up....

need some opionons soon before my lights come on in the morning...

I'd get a hanging kit asap that way you can raise and lower with bulb changes and whatnot but layered window screen that is metal will work too.

keep your old lights on the tank till you get a hanging kit! You dont want to fry all your coral.
