Coral ID?

Was sold to me as "Big Hairy Mushroom" (I know...). Not sure what the actual coral is, can anyone identify?

It's a very aesthetically pleasing coral. Wish my phone took better pictures.

Do you know if it will spread on sand?

That I don't know. I have mine on a rock ledge and it's doubled in size since I added it a few months ago.

Rhodactis are very similar but I don’t think GHM is completely wrong. If you come to believe it’s a Rhodactis, I’ve had them in the past. They will spread and sting. So keep it on a separate rock. Good luck.
