Good Morning Everyone ,
Happy Friday

I have had 75 Gallon Salt water Aquarium for a year tank has been great , only issue i am currently facing is trying to find the best light setting for my coral.

Its kind of upsetting when your going to a fish store and they give you info and their output and then you go to another one different information, so with that being said i have done my research and until today still learning about this hobby that my family enjoys.

i just cant seem to have a good lighting schedule

Just seeing if anyone has any good advice that would help or be beneficial?:):)

Fish are doing great beside had ick a few times now in this tank , but i did set up a quarantine tank which has saved me.

Fluval Marine 3.0 Spectrum LED Aquarium Light, 22 Watts : is currently what i have for lighting.

Thank you ,
Linda.

Morning Linda,

We can start with what types of coral do you have? Fluval marine is a pretty weak light for a 75 gallon unless you have low light coral dominating the tank.

Going to get a lot of opinions on this subject.

My personal opinion and what I run are Noopsyche k7 pros. i have 3 over my 125G tank, i had two over my old 75G. will be able to grow whatever you want.

I bought these to replace a set of radion g4 xr30 pros.

The app is kind of a pain at first but they are great lights and I feel they compare to the g4 radions.

Best thing is they are only $165 per light ( body only, no hanging or bracketry)

i am ordering 8 to go on top of my 300G tank here shortly

The majority of corals will not survive long term with that light on a 75g tank. If you only plan to keep fish it would be fine and then the schedule / settings are basically whatever gives the fish a day and night period, with colors you fancy.

If you keep corals you are limited to softies and zoanthids and the light would need to be maxed

The 22w version of that light is for tanks half your size, for tanks 15-24” and a 75g is typically 48”

You basically have a candle over your tank right now.... 75 gallon tank should have 200-300 watts of power. 22 watts is for a 5-10 gallon tank.

I believe the strongest fluval light is 50 watts, no where near enough power for your tank size.
