Coralife

Hey yall. So currently looking at a coralife 16 gallon biocube on marketplace for a pretty good deal. Looking at setting it up for a pair of seahorses... my question is.. would the standard light in the biocube be sufficient for any kind of Acros? Want to so some acros for the seahorses to be able to do seahorse things.. just don't want to move any acros from my display and kill them with the coralife light

For the biocube 16, par at the sand bed is around 61 based on the coralife website. So my guess is mid tank (7 inch from the light) par will be 120 and about 200-250 close to water surface. If you build the rockscape high enough then I think yes you can give it a try. Lot of acro will doing good at that 200-250 range e.g. Cali Tort or Oregon Tort or Rainbow in Spain…

You also can growth most of the monti, stylophora, or birdnest under that par range.

IMO the tank is too small for a pair of seahorses. Get the 32 biocube or stick with dwarf seahorses for that tank.

How many dwarf seahorses would be comfortable in the 16g?

I have the same tank set up and fallow, and would love to try sea ponies.

Seahorses need low flow and acros need strong flow.

My tank is almost all acros, but in this situation I would look at keeping easier sticks.
