Pretty soon you'll be hating coralline algae. Lol. It will grow Everywhere. Even in spaces you don't want it
I fight to keep it out of my tank and see so many begging for it

My tank has been up and running since May 1st of this year. I have started to see Coraline algae growing on plastic on my back wall some patches as large as dimes and quarters. My question is I don't see any on the rocks yet. How long before I should start seeing some on the rocks? Thanks
Welcome to r2r!
I have the opposite issue-tonnes of it on rock & zero on glass :face-with-tears-of-joy:

@90's reefer can we get a Crust shot of the bottom of one of your tanks
Keep up the good work. Coraline indicates stability. Mine seems to love low light areas. You might have a ton in your sump. If you wanted to seed, get a chunk and pulverize in water column, but it'll come either way as long as you keep things chill.

Urchins will help keep it down but can displace frags and be generally clumsy (if well meaning)

You could scrape some off and grind it up and let it seed your tank.

Piggybacking on this, is there a way to discourage Coraline algae growth? It seems to grow to fast and makes me clean the glass I lot.
The only thing I could think of would be urchins. Buy two or three and they'll eat a little bit of it. Nothing really eats it quick as far as I'm aware though.
