Coralland 8 gallon

What it looks like now

From what I noticed right away. The zoas are stretching towards the light. Meaning, they aren’t getting enough light to grow but merely survive.
The hammer is gone, probably from starvation due to the lack of light and 0 nitrates.
Algae is taking over possibly due to no nutrients and the algae is consuming what little there is and starving the corals.

Also noticed the scraper in the tank. I would never leave the scraper in the tank. Check the magnet, see if its rusting

i was assuming they were stretching up due to being covered by the algae. What light would you recomend for this size tank. I was looking at the fluval reef nano 4.0. I want something that i can program

I’ve read reviews that Fluval sea nano isn’t the best light. I personally love a good AI Prime and they are very programmable and easy to find secondhand. I will also second a nice Nicrew light. I use mine with a controller as I don’t love having too many apps on my phone.

Another +1 for the NiCrew Navareef 65… very programmable with the controller and great for a budget.

I'm running a Reefbreeders and an IOAOI over mine. The Reefbreeders I have isn't app controlled so every time the power goes out I have to reprogram the light. - no batter to keep the memory.

Nicrew Hyperreef is a good budget option as is the Noopsyche Mini.

I just have the IOAOI light which seemed good for starting the tank but I do need to look at upgrading

I got a ai blade 12 inch grow onto if it and with some 3d printed light risers 3 inches above and I love it!
