coralline algae

Recently got a tank of somebody and the back was covered in coralline algae so I was rather lazy and done my change over without cleaning the algea off the back with vinegar. Now it's obvious that it has died because it's turned all white. Is their any chance of getting rid of this whilst the tank is up and running or is it best to just leave it?

Think it's personal preference really. Keep it or leave it. When i moved my tank long distance all my coralline on the glass died, I left the dead white stuff, new eventually took over. Can't see the harm in removing it, besides making a mess.

If I wanted to get rid of it is the best way to scrape? It's not a glass back its plastic because it has its filtration compartments behind it. Its suppose to be black and thw dead algea looks a bit terrible.

Yea I'd scrape it. Maybe use a scraper meant for acrylic vs glass of you're worried about scratching it. I wouldn't worry too much, the coralline is going to eventually cover the back again and will hide any scratches anyways.
