Coralline Scraper Blades for Algae Magnets

I'm getting tired of putting my arms in the tanks up to my armpits holding a blade to scrape coralline down in the bottom back corners and next to the sandbed then getting down from the chair only to see places that I missed. I'm looking at the "Easy Blade" attachment that glues to the back of an algae magnet and hold a steel blade for coralline. Has anyone actually tried these? How well do they really work?

If its the one that I have it uses a razor blade. I couldnt go without it now that I use it. Its one of the best things Ive ever bought for my tank and it makes my job easy.

Oceansmotions makes the best, love mine. I just used Christy's blue to attach it to my Magfloat and get the 4" blades from Homedepot, the little paint razors work as well, just takes more time to do a simple job.

How thick is your glass? Mine is 1/2 inch. I made a simple bent piece of plexiglas to hold a carpet blade and glued it on my magfloat. While it did work, you had to do a lot of scrubbing to get the coralline off. I don't think my magfloat 350 holds it tight enough to the glass. At any rate, I'm tired of trying to reinvent the wheel. I want to buy something that works! We have 5 tanks and the scraping is getting to be a pain.

Which algae magnet holds it on the glass better?

It's 5/8" thick, this thing will go through the coralline like butter, I never had it at anytime not scrape or come off the magnet or hold tight to the glass when it scrapes. Like PTR said "buy it, don't look back". I think it only works with the Magfloat?

After looking at all the magnetic scrapers on the market, I went with the Algae Free. Its price, strength, and floating feature are unmatched IMO. I wanted the scraper as well, and after trying it on a friend's tank, I went with that as well. It rocks. I would say its the best unit out there.... its a wide blade that is supported along the full width of the blade but it isnt pressed to the glass with so much pressure that you have to worry about scratching anything.

i have the one for the magfloat. They're fantastic and work so well. Just make sure you don't keep it in the tank or it'll rust.

best buy! I have been using them for 3 or 4 years now. I replace my blades after 6 months.
