So my corals are dying, not everything but especially Montipora (digitata, bubblegum) even a Cyphastrea and birdsnest, acros doing fine, most lps do fine, But it all isn’t in the greatest shape and. There were some unfortunate situations prior that could be the cause. First I was setting up my doser for iodine and was looking at the wrong dosing line and thought it was clogged. I think I dosed like 15x times the daily recommended dose. After that I did some water changes and changed carbon. Later I was trying different settings of my lights but forget to save my settings and left the light on the wrong setting.. to top it off I changed the positing of my powerheads(backwall to side wallls, could this cause the Monti’s to die, one is more in direct flow then it was and is struggling) all in all stupid faults that can lead to this downfall. Parameters are all stable but something just isn’t right. How should I move forward? Lights are back to previous(it think) and are a few % down. I did some extra 10% waterchanges. I think there must be something in the water that causes it. Should I do a big water change? Like 30-50% or let things settle?

Params (stable)
-no3 10
-po4 0,06(flucatuates a bit between 0,09-0,06)
-calcium 450
-alk 8.3
-mag 1365
-ph 8.2-8.4
-salinity 1026

Dosing kalk and manganese(1/4 recommended every other day)

You shouldn't be running iodine on a doser ever. Just hand dose a small amount if needed weekly typically water changes replenish iodine. With the overdose, lights and flow changes your corals especially SPS will struggle for awhile. Never make big changes just subtle changes and evaluate weekly or monthly before changing again. All you can do is wait now and I would get an ICP test to check everything.

Pictures will help. You describe most are doing fine, but only a few are not "in greatest shape"? What does that mean? We need to see.

Details on your lights and flow will also help.

The parameters are all fine so we need more info.

How big and how old is the tank?
Did you test the iodine level? What is it?
Far too many variables come into play to determine cause.

I started dosing Iodine after a icp(January) I dosed Aquaforest LAB iodine. That was the only thing that was really out of range(this is the case with every tank I concluded after research) all the changes I did were not in a day or week but over the course of 1,5 months I think.

I will try to get some before and after pics. So, what is mean is that ATM a few corals are dying and the rest is doing fine, but not what it used to be(not dying, but polyps retracted on monti’s and just not as before) run a mp10 and 2 hygger mini wavemakers on a 25g system. Lights are 1x xr15 pro on 35% schedule, 9 to 5 with 5 hours all blues and 30% warm white. The remaining hours on all blue. On either side of the xr15 I have 2x aqua knight v2 (30w) on 30% (nothing changed here)

I will get back to you with pictures, you can see my tank in better days in my introduction post.

Problem is corals decline from the inside out so it can take weeks or many months before they show signs of stress and decline so in essence they could have been struggling for months now and you are just beginning to see the results. The iodine 15x overdose may have been the final trigger on some of them. Your parameters are ok now. Par check your tank.

Did I miss the part about Iodine Test?
Looks like a lovely tank. I sure hope you get to the bottom of it. I suspect elevated Iodine.

IMO stay away from individualized dosing on things like iodine/cobalt/selenium - especially on a doser. Too many ways to screw that up and crash a tank.

I wouldn't chase that number either if you are not all in on something like Moonshiners either because a water change can also completely throw things out of whack.

I guess what I mean to say is that unless you are getting regular ICP tests, it's going to be hard to know once you have arrived at the target iodide concentration and will end up shooting past it unless you keep up with ICP's. It's not necessarily worth dosing unless that is the route you are taking due to the risk of overdose.

Yes agreed, definitely was a fault to start dosing. But after the big dose I didn’t dose iodine anymore. I will buy a test or do a new ICP but I guess the damage is already done.

Now I wouldn’t write your struggling corals off yet though. I've had corals completely dead and covered with algae for 2 years rebound good as new. Frag off some affected parts that are easy to reach. Give them time to work through it.
