My corals are not looking so good, I understand at first they might look bad until they are accustomed to your tank for a month or so but it’s been longer all my perimeters are good except for nitrates they are extremely high I have never quite been able to drop them even with water changes I’ve tried some plants and also added the corals to help lower them I have some small blooms of regular algae and just a couple stands of hair algae but I have baby trochus, cerith, nirite, Stomatella, conch, nassarius, and several other cleanup crew fellows too. I’m not too sure what all I have still as my cleanup crew is good enough that if I lose a fish no spikes will occur.

We really need a full set of water parameters (actual figures) to see if we can help to start out with, and a full tank shot also can be helpful

Hi nitrate could be an issue but what is high and also what’s the phosphate level

Ammonia: <0.02
Alkalinity: 300

Nitrate being that high is an issue. I would do 2 or 3 30% water changes a week until they are in an acceptable range. Then do what's needed to keep them in the range you want. Overstocked, overfeeding, lack of maintenance are usually the cause.

Also I noticed the white nodule on my coral in the first picture. I’m not sure what that could be. Any idea?

Are these hanna readings or? What kind of lighting are you using. It seems extremely white. Calc is high, phosphate is a bit higher than I'd like. Nitrate is through the roof and alk is deadly at 300ppm. Your hitting 14dkh

Tetra dip strip for Nitrite, Nitrate and alk.
Ph I have a digital tester
API for calcium and phosphate
Seacheam monitor for Ammonia
I have D.I.D. so maintenance is not always easy. Lightning I had on a white led for pictures I have a full spectrum that I have come on a couple times a day for a few hrs and then a color changing led for most of the time.

Can I see the lighting? These coral likely came from a system around 10dkh to 15dkh your ph, nitrate and dkh could be stressing these coral badly. Not to mention the light. Do you have a full picture of the lighting and tank?

I have 3 clowns, 2 watchman gobies, 1 golden head goby, 1 Cromis, 1 feather duster, 4 nassarius, 7 hermit crabs, 4 baby trochus, 7 Asterina, 1 conch, 2 Stomatella and possibly 2 lettuce slugs but I haven’t seen them in a while. In a 29 gal. With canister filter.

There's a lot of things going on here. Canister filters are notorious for causing high nutrient spikes if not properly maintained. I'm not too sure what the light is but it seems to possibly be heavy into the lower Kelvin area, giving your tank a yellowish hue, which is great for plants and algea but not too good for coral. (Granted I could be wrong just my experience) Coral like a more of a blue spectrum. What kind of canister filter are you using too more so whats the GPH? And what type of filtration is in it? Are you using mechanical or chemical? Or both?
