Look 8 comments up

Or I guess another interpretation of that comment could be that corals always consume elements in a known and balanced way which Triton is formulated at based on 7 dkh. Any deviations from 7 would therefore be due to testing error? And my first statement is really a question.

@CMO every tank is different. Triton's target of 7 is a "one size fits all" recommendation. 7 is a safe level that provides a bit of room up or down if your home test is not very accurate. If 7 is actually 6, you'll be ok. If 7 is actually 8, you'll be ok. You're free to deviate from Triton's guidelines, a big part of this hobby is experimentation. Just test and make slow changes when you do

I hope this helps answer your question.

I can live with that which was my presumption all along.

But the statement "Core7 runs better when set to a KH of 7, but more important than that is the stability" is what confused me and got me wondering if there was some science behind running at 7 dkh.

Dosing at a level in the range of 7-9 dkh based on an individual tanks needs makes perfect sense. Thank you
