How high do you have your emergency drain from the top of your Eshopps overflow box?

I raised mine to that it is just above the opening of the bulkhead going through the glass. It makes the unit dead silent. Otherwise you hear the splashing of the water falling into the inside box
I can get you an exact measurement later this afternoon

Yes, I took some sponge material and cut it into a circle and shoved it in the hole, that way it still allows air in, but keeps the splashing contained

I was looking back through this thread and realized at some point you put gyres into this tank. How did you feel about those in your 40B? I am trying to decide what to get for flow for mine.

I liked them two was definitely overkill but they were for the 75
