I just found this thread this evening and read through the whole thing! Very nice 40B! I loved the Kessil/T5 fixture that you put together and was surprised to see you switch to the MH/T5. Your tank was doing so well, but most of my time in reefing was with the MH/T5 combo (VHO for years also) and I think you will like the results of the switch. Following along!

Your tank is looking good. I can't help wonder what my own tank would look like under MH again. I get such good colour and moderate growth with my kessils but sps growth is really slow. I chalk this up mostly to the fact the tank is softy dominated but maybe just maybe it's the lighting. As for candy bacon though, it's one of the few bacon things I'm not to keen on :)

Just a fun afternoon shot, look at that coraline growth! To think a few months ago I couldn't grow coraline to save my life!

How are the coral colors?
Everything is coloring up nicely since my crash, the acro's are coloring up from the tips and working their way down. The second picture with my shrimp you can really see it on my tri color acro.

It looks good but imo the back looks so much better without coraline :)
Lol, I personally enjoy the coraline. Means I don't have to clean annoying algae off the back wall ;)

Tank is looking great! You going to keep the current light fixture on the tank?
Yes, I think i'm going to stick with metal halide and T5's :) Dr. Foster and Smith had a sale on Metal Halide bulbs, so I scooped up three bulbs for the price of one ;)
