So does no one run the recommended settings?

I do not. One thing that I dont like is that the moon light setting can not be changed. 6 hrs no matter what

I don't know if they sell just the Bluetooth hub, but on that you can change it between 0-6hours

It's preset to have weather, I took mine off as it was annoying. Here is a video to turn off. Or you can change the amount of time it does it

No I don't wanna adjust I want that OFF my sinularia keeps reacting to the lights change lol tysm for all your current orbit info. You're more knowledgeable than customer support!

Thank you for that. Looks like you can and the one I have is compatible. Not a fan of the 100 dollar tag.
I agree with that! Currents customer support for warranties is epic they've given me so much free replacement stuff. The light is much dissapointment.

Just a thought, as I was in the same boat as you. I bought the Currents as my very first light on my first tank. I was new, they looked cool and had fancy features and I bought them. I had them on the tank for 4-5 months before I even thought about corals. Once I started down that path and found R2R I realized they probably weren't going to do what I wanted. I looked into buy Kessils or AI but they were so expensive. I would need several of either one to cover my tank and looking at $1K for lights and mounts. Instead I went with just adding some T5 lights in. It was way cheaper and I have good growth and coloration. Obviously this depending on your tank size. If it is smaller then maybe it would cost the same to just get a new LED light.

Yep, it's a T5 hybrid light you combine T5 and LED ligths together. You can add whatever LED lights you want, most people add AI or Kessil, but I just stuck with my Currents. My T5s aren't on all day. I have them on a timer to run 6 hours

After I typed that I checked your build thread and saw you had a smaller tank, so it seems like that would be a pain to add a T5 to it. I also have a smaller tank (IM Nuvo 30) that I run just one Current on and am happy with it. It's to bad yours aren't working out, but as you said live and learn.

Thankfully I'm a glass blower by trade so throwing money in the bin of learning is something I'm very familiar with! Hahaha

I think a lot of people get into this hobby, and immediately wish they made a different decision, whether it be they wish they bought a different piece of equipment, or a larger tank, or a different fish to start with. I started with a 55gallon with an HOB filter and within 4 months I upgrade to a 75 with a sump.

Ever tried running the currents on the recommended settings to give it a shot? Or do you know of anyone that tried?

My 30 gallon I run basically with factory settings, except I lowered green because it can cause algae (or so I've been told). I'm happy with the growth and coloration in that tank.

Settings for my set up. Sunrise. 80b 10r 10g 25w. Daylight 100b 45w15r10g.
I inadvertently have the same exact set up I minorly altered the main schedule to what I thought wouldn't bloom algae. Good to know this forum is drilling some problem solving into me

What times do you run from sunrise to the end of day time?
