Happy Sunday everyone!

I've got my tank/stand up. Rock and sand is in. Plumbing is done water flowing beautifully.

I'm now ready to cycle my tank. I will be using Dr Tim's.

When do I start my Bubble Magus A8 skimmer and get it broken in? Do I need to have it broken in BEFORE cycling, or do I do it after?

(Because when I turn it on now it overflows with bubbles like crazy - can't slow it down - common thinking is that it needs to break in.)

Thanks and I look forward to hearing your expertise,
J

Start using it after the cycle or even after you get fish

Run it in vinegar first wait for your cycle to finish. I used doctor Tim's and had my cycle stall so get an extra bottle of bacteria.

Even if that means the "break-in" of it overflowing skimmate from the cup back into the sump?

yes. this is typical break-in behavior. this will happen with new skimmers or after cleaning.
