Daniel's Glowing Nano Reef

Working on the pics now...but I've got some bad news. My scoly fell today (don't know how it came dismounted from the rock I had it epoxied to) and landed on top of my PPE favia and my Raptor's peace favia. The Raptor's peace looks mostly ok (he got stung a little on the back side away from the front of the display, so you can't even see and he should recover just fine in a few days or a week), but the PPE is pretty bad. I have repositioned the scoly so it's on the sand bed and can't fall on anything anymore (which you'll see in the FTS).

However, overall, I am really pleased with the way things are looking. :)

O no!! Sorry to hear about the mishap. Your reef is coming along nice! When are you making your way back to Richmond?

I'm planning to be making a visit probably around the 23rd or 24th. :) I'm not 100% sure yet, but hoping to make it happen. I'm overdue for one. :D

OK! Before posting the FTS, I need to introduce some of the new pieces in the tank. :D

Rare Reef is going to have to help me with some of the names on these because ALL of them came in the Crazy Box they sent.

First up are Kamikaze Deepwater Zoas.

I love the color on these! that skirt stands out.

Next is the Rare Reef True Hawaiian RPE paly. This thing is HUGE!

You can also see where my SC Morphing Mummy Eye is starting to get some new eyes. :D

Next is the RareReef Razmatazz Chalice. I love the color on this thing, and it's really settled in well. The eyes pop really well under the blues.

By the way, I found this hitch hiker coral when I went to take the FTS. I'm not sure what it is, but it came in on one of the pieces I picked up at Aqua World in Pittsburgh (the place where I got the scoly). I'm trying to decide if I need to get the zoa out from under it, or just let things be. It looks like a monti of some type or maybe a chalice??

With the whites on it's ALMOST transparent...all you can really see are the little blue-green points, but under the blues...

This is the best hitch hiker I've ever had!!! :bigsmile:

I wish I new how take a good FTS with blues only to show how well this thing lights up. I am excited that everything seems to be doing as good as it is.

One coral that is a Must Have that Glows like Nothing else.. Cornbred Trash Mummy Eye Chalice.. A.k.a 3G Mummy Eye I have 4 different Mummy Eyes and that Trash ME is Blinding!! Out Glows my Mighty Moprhin, OG and Oregon Mummy's!! KYLECT is selling a few frags on here right now. Take a Peak.

Here's the last update before the livestock deadline (today). First up are Cuban Lover zoas (at least I think that's the name). Had a tough time getting them to open up for a bit, but a dip in Revive seems to have made them happy. :-)

This is the Hulk Acan! Very nice bright piece from the Rare Reef box.

Forgive the phone pics. I'll get a better ones soon.

I have two other zoas that came in the Rare Reef box that haven't opened up, but RR is taking care of me on those. I have a pm in to Mike and Terry to see if I can still use the replacement pieces when they come in next week (since the originals were bought before the deadline) or if I'll have to wait till after the competition to add them.

Hey guys! Been sick and then playing catch up, so I apologize for not updating recently. I have permission to add the replacement pieces I will be getting from Rare Reef which should be here next week. :D In the meantime, I'll get an FTS soon, and I want to see if I can get one with just the blues on so you guys can see how the glow is coming off of this tank!!
