Looking for suggestions on a pump than can push water between 30-40 feet. Most of the distant is linear, there will be a handful of 90's but the height is only 2-3 feet. Like I said before most of the distance is a straight line.

Submersible DC pump preferred.

Also, would a 1" PVC pipe be sufficient for this distance?

I use a waveline DC pump for my system. The pump is really based off of you size of your system, and how many time you are looking to turn your system water over. The nice thing about DC is you can control the speed, and I would get more that you need. Another question would be is are you going to be using a controller and if you want your pump to interface with the controller?

Again everything is based off of the the questions I just asked and answered, and also would return line sizing.

Thank you for your reply and sorry for taking so long to answer but I had totally missed your reply.

I have a 400 gallon system in my living room which I want to add another 115 gallons but the new tank will be located in another part of my home, about 40 feet away. The plan is to drill the exterior wall, run a drain and return line underground and go in on the other side of the house were the display tank is. Pipe size will be 1-1/4" sch40.

Controlling the pump via my apex is not necessary but would be a nice option to have.

Eric...I have a spare/backup Waveline DC12000 you can borrow and see if it works. From what I understand about most of the DC pumps, they're not that great with longer distances. But since you're not talking about a large vertical height, it may just work. If you'd like to try it, let me know via PM here or locally.

Thanks David! I have a DC15000 that I will be trying out. Im thinking it might work since most of the distance is linear and not vertical so will see. If that doesn't work I might have to get a hammerhead or something similar.

If you don't have to worry about noise get a waveline I have one. They do make enough noise that if it's a factor don't use it. If noise is a factor then get a ecotech vectra M1 dead silent and as close to zero vibration as you can get. Also have one of those.

Yes noise is a factor since the tank is in my living room.

What I've found is that the cheaper ones like jeabo do work but they are questionable long term. There are really high end pumps such as the red dragon out there, but I'm not paying that much for a pump. I think the ecotech has a pretty good record for a decent price.
