Filter floss is gone, replaced it all with rock rubble awhile ago.
Then get more, you can buy in bulk from wlamart for cheap though I forget what its called. I used magnets to clip it above my powerheads.

Ah, I see what your saying, thought you were talking about floss in back chamber. Yeah I'll do that, I need something else to catch the dinos besides my beautiful net shaped coral lol

I didn't use any. Filter floss, added a small UV, and increased my phosphates.

What worked for me was just placing filter floss in a high flow area and cleaning it out twice a day.
This is also what worked for me. Poly fil from walmart.

@BristleWormHater, are your nutrients unbalanced?

They were, when that hypnea disintegrated. I've brought them back to what there were before but I think that swing from high back to low is what triggered this outbreak.

Does the filter floss trick still work if I have a species that doesn't go into the water column at night?

I would use a turkey baster but it's difficult when it's in the sand.

Not as well, youd have to get the cells into the water colum. Manual removal will work the best. Have you seen that UV sand sweeper before? That would work well but i think its pricy.

Get as many of the dinos off of the rocks as possible, and increase the tanks biodiversity as much as you can. Bacteria will fight the dinos for space.

I think Reefe By Steel has a copepod pack that potentially eats dinos. Boosting your CUC if youre low on it wont hurt either.

My cuc is pretty low now, I'm gonna go get some hermits on Tuesday. I added some of the tbs rock last week so that will hopefully help as well. The qt tank for the liverok has basically turned into a copepod culture, they are everywhere! I've been adding some into the main tank here and there.

Good news and bad news
@VintageReefer the hammer is cured I think, I got coral infection elimination and it came in on Tuesday, dipped the hammer the same day, it's been looking better but it's been stretched upward and looked a bit wider and tonight my suspicions were confirmed. It's splitting! Zoom in and you'll see two mouths.

Nowtgebad news, this symphyllia/lobophyllia is *probably dead. I moved it to the liverock tank and it did better for a week until it rtn'd the night before the coral infection elimination dip came in, I dioped it when it arrived but it was mostly skeleton at that point. There is one corner of flesh that hasn't been touched by scavengers and seems to be secured to the skeleton, so there is hope.
Night before dip arrived

Here it is last night, I circled the spots with flesh still remaining.
