how are these new skimmers?

I've been drop shipping these for a while now, but oddly enough this shipment is the first chance I've had to actually see one in person lol. The feedback's been great so far and i am planning on tossing a 600ix on my display soon to give it a try. Currently I've got an MCE500 on there that I managed to piece together with misc spares lol. Really similar to my old 1455, but I'm anxious to see how the ix works:)

Hi there,

Really sorry for not seeing this post of yours sooner. I am only stocking skimmers and misc parts at this time, but I can get you a kalk reactor no problem. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any further questions at all.

Adam, are you able to get the effluent filters separately for the calcium reactors. I have heard tales that these can all but eliminate effluent valve clogging on calcium reactors which would save me a boatload of cost and noise should my peristaltic feed pump ever fail

Ha! oh yes! these are the best little non secret ever! Been recommending these things to frustrated reactor users for many years now.

I get them but from an auto parts store Part: Hengst H102WK

That’s cheap enough to pick up several to have just in case. On a system your size I imagine you run a full stream effluent with no valve at all correct?

Woohoo, 600i delivered today 48 hours after the order was placed, thanks Adam! I'm planning on setting up the tank over the long weekend. Adding a pic of the neck cleaner since I haven't really seen it in stock photos. 20180829_170705.jpg 20180829_170718.jpg

You're going to love it. I bought the 600ix from Adam and this thing pulls some nasty dark stuff out of my tank.

Hey Adam did you get to put the 600ix on your display?

Not yet. I just cant bring myself to pull the pieced together mc500 I have on there now lol. I did however replace the aging TC1625 on my backup system with shiny new 1500ix, and I love it. Fantastic skimmer It's definitely pulling out more than the old 1625, and I was pretty ambiguous about the manual heads. But now, with just a quick swipe once or twice a day, i am a believer lol. Love it 100%

Thanks, I had a sc1351 on a previous tank and liked it enough to buy another Deltec :)

What size tank are you running it on?

My tank is much smaller than mwilk19's, it is a total volume of 60ish gallons. I think it should work just as well on a smaller tank.

This was actually a big selling point for me. I added Avast swabbies to previous skimmers so I was glad to see a manual version included.
