Why do you think the PO4 jumped or have you not been keeping an eye on it?

I've actually been doing more water changes on the tank, which I believe resulted in the situation I am in right now! I neglected my RODI filters and I think that is where the phosphates are coming from. Just ordered an ATI ICP test so I can test both the tank and the RO water. I am not day 2 of running the reactors, I'll test phosphates tomorrow or the next day.

Good luck buddy.
I appreciate you sir!!!

Started phosguard on Saturday on the tank and one of two RODI water containers. Have more phosguard showing up tomorrow. Will swap out both canisters. Plan is to test tank tomorrow and see where I am at, maybe I’ve been toooo aggressive, or possibly need to add more media. More Hanna phosphorus test kits are on the way!

For the RODI water I plan to run 3-5 rounds of rowaphos on them to hopefully rid the phosphates from the water.

Also have an ATI ICP test on the way. Will hopefully start the moonshine method soon. @AngryOwl has an awesome video on it and introduced me to the method.

Will be ordering new RODI filters soon, and maybe a second DI stage

No. Lensed like an Orphek, so that's a better comparison. Construction quality is on par with Orphek, and much better than Reef Brite. Same quality diodes as the others. Can be ordered in custom spectrums to match other lights or to compliment your main lights. $45 US for stock 470nm, and ~$60 for custom. Same as the Reef Breeder bars.

Chinese reefbrite?

Woah, the infamous Pelphrey shouting me out!? What a day!

I'm here to answer any questions you have on it once you get started. The solution to your phosphate issue is to add more coral! I've been in the same boat as you with 200 blinking and never saw any negative effects, took months to go down on its own but now I have to dose reef roids and feed pellets to keep it around 7-30ppb. Nitrates have been 40-50 on my system for a year or so and I couldn't care less lol

Well that price sure is great.

The single negative effect I’ve seen is a hammer, which was one of the very first corals I ever got 5-6 years ago die. I’m hating it! Shoutout, naw. You’ve led me in the direction of research! Thank you!!!

Well that price sure is great.

Right!!! I plan to use it for the last hour or two of lighting the tank so I can shut the radions down. Stay tuned!

Consider dropping the AliE bars offline just as the Radion ramp down starts. That way you don't have to worry about dimming the bars. Use the mains to dim.

I’ll start by saying, this has been an absolute joy ride! Even though the tank didn’t grow as much as I’d like it was awesome! I loved having the tank and enjoyed every second of it!

For those of you interested I still have about 8 videos to publish on YouTube so stay tuned for those!

If you aren’t following me on Instagram.... you should’ve been! Haha As of Tuesday the tank was shut down. A local fish store picked up all rock, corals and fish. At this point everything is cleaned up. The tank was supposed to leave today, due to rain the new owner will get it tomorrow!

I’ve thought about this for a year or more! Finally when I had a buyer for all livestock it made the decision MUCH easier! The tank is now clean as well as the sump and other equipment.

It is bitter sweet but I’m happy, healthy and this was the right decision! My family and I have other opportunities to focus on.

For anyone interested I still have the radions and rms mounts available. The calcium reactor, Tunze pumps and other equipment is spoken for!

Thanks to all for all of the love and support over the last 7 years. Maybe 8 years I’m not sure! The reefer has been setup just at 5 and a half years. I’m very much looking forward to the next chapter. We’re leaving for vacation in about 12 days and this will be the first vacation in a long time I can leave and NOT worry about a tank!

Thanks again to everyone! Love you all and I’ll never say never to another tank. But.... not in the near future!
