The apex is almost out! I need a usb cable to setup the reeflink! I added a jecod 4000 pump as the return, wave maker is a pp15. I meant to order a pp8 but messed up! Haha using a WiFi surge protector and a $30 light to setup a refugium. Need to get some macro algae next week!

Since I’m removing the apex I added a single kamoer doser!

Quick thread update... Some of you have either seen the listing I have in the For Sale section, or you've seen me list some equipment on Instagram.

The listing is here - https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/redsea-reefer-250-full-setup.617359/#post-6190966

Obviously from the pictures above the tank is running! So far I've pulled the following off of the tank, some items are sold and shipped and some need to be cleaned before listing.

Retired or soon to be retired equipment -
  • Ecotech Vortech MP10wQD's
  • Tunze 6040's
  • Apex Classic (Temp and PH probe)
  • Neptune WXM
  • Neptune COR20
  • Neptune DOS
  • Neptune AFS
  • Neptune BOB and Floats
  • Neptune FMM (Optical sensors and leak detector)
  • Nyos 120 Skimmer
What is running the tank now -
Honestly I have to say that pulling all of that equipment off the tank felt great, literally like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The tank is now running flawlessly on equipment that cost right around $300 - which is rather amazing! The plan is to run a refugium in place of a skimmer and just keep it simple! I am now in a weird place with the tank, I would really like to see how it runs for an extension period of time as is. BUT If the right offer comes along to buy the entire setup I will entertain that idea! I have a lot more to think about and analyze before a real decision is made. This isn't about the money, the money coming back to me from the equipment sales will be allocated towards family events VS my hobby! Something we can all enjoy as a family and make memories.

Shipping equipment... Anyone that has shipped items will understand where I am coming from. It is expensive! With the market in my area I have no other choice but to package everything to handle the carriers hands and ship it out.

My appreciation towards everyone showing me support all over the various platforms I am on has been truly amazing. I've heard from people I've had some discussion with and more lately I am hearing from people I've never heard from before. I don't feel like I am trying to be a teacher by any means, it is a lot of fun for me to share the journey I have been on. So many people have reached out to me stating that my Reefer 250 documentation has helped them purchase their own Reefer. In my opinion this is just people being nice to people and the world needs more of you, it's so easy to be nice and it takes little effort.

So... Thank you everyone for your support, understanding, telling me to not get rid of the tank and buying equipment! Stay tuned!

The last devices on the apex just came offline and were setup on the reeflink. The apex classic has been great to me, no issues at all! Until next time Neptune!

Watch, now that your have pulled all the equipment and aren't really monitoring things as closely you will be far more hands off...... and the tank will explode in growth ;)

There is so much truth to this! I now have nothing to tinker with, and it’s nice! Appreciate your input!
