I’m going to ask for interceptor from my vet. Do you think these are white bugs? I’ve even found some black looking bugs too. My sps have been losing PE and fading. Only certain ones. Will interceptor work for this and the black ones? The black ones I’ll post too. Thanks!

Certainly appears so. Keep in mind white bugs require a stronger dose of interceptor. I dosed 1 pill (large dog 51-100lbs) per 100g of water. 3 treatments 1 week apart.

Great videos by the way!
Wew I feel sort of relieved. I couldn’t figure out why my acro just weren’t doing the best. Did it wipe all of your pods? I have a mandarin I’m worried about if I kill all my pods.

Nope, I have a mandarin too, and he's still around.
Thank you very much. If anyone else wouldn’t mind chiming in that these look like white bugs I’d appreciate it. I’ve read any but on live acro skin is bad ? Thanks everyone :)

I don’t have red/white bugs, but I was curious: is interceptor safe in a display tank with maxima clams? Seems like lots of people are doing interceptor tank dosages.

Yes
Those are white bugs and the only thing that will kill them is a strong dose of interceptor
Not even Bayer dips will kill them? Perhaps a reason why so many people are getting red/white bugs stem from the lack of Bayer dips? It seems like very few people use Bayer these days, so maybe it’s a correlation?

Bayer is the only dip that might kill them if there’s no eggs left behind. I’ve heard they can hide inside the polyps and avoid the Bayer but don’t know if that’s true.

Interceptor is the only in tank and safe (except for crustaceans) option that I know of.

I do 1 pill for 50g and it for sure wipes them out. I do half the pill and then the other half a couple hours later.

Thanks so much. Should I worry about my mandarin starving ? I have so many pods in a 100 gallon tank and 40 gallon sump with giant refugium. Do you think it will kill so many pods my mandarin will starve ?

Yep Bayer won't do it. There's a common myth out there that Bayer will kill Red, White, Gray and black bugs, but it doesn't. The only known chemical to work is Milbemycin Oxime which is the active ingredient in Interreceptor. Pro tip: there is a generic version that does the job and is less expensive... https://www.1800petmeds.com/milbeguard+++generic+to+interceptor-12109.html?dfw_tracker=126493-12109&nbt=nb:adwords:g:18384435549:155748611922:675729607346&nb_adtype=pla_with_promotion&nb_kwd=&nb_ti=pla-316991333231&nb_mi=3228932&nb_pc=online&nb_pi=12109&nb_ppi=316991333231&nb_placement=&nb_si=

Are vets okay with prescribing it for tanks? I have two dogs and a vet I have used for years. Just wondered if I told them of my intended use if they would be okay prescribing a 6 or 12 pack?

I don’t have a dog. I have a medium sized cat. How would I get it from my vet? Do I just tell them it’s for my reef tank?
