Did my BTA spawn in my zoas?

I bought a BTA (which was sold to me as a LTA :/ ) and it would not stop moving around my tank at first. It eventually walked all over a patch of zoas. I noticed after this a pink slime-like substance at the roots of the zoas, and honestly thought they had been stung and were as good as dead. Since then that zoa colony has been growing great, and I've just ignored the pink substance. Today was the first day that I've seen small tentacle-like pieces coming off of this substance. Did my BTA spawn? See pics

Looks like a sponge, or possibly macroalgae. I believe 2 anemones of separate sexes are required for a successful spawn, don't quote me on that though.
Whatever it is, it is very pretty. Maybe get a pic with the flash on?

They do both, actually. Though splits are a good bit more common in aquaria.

I agree that it looks more like a sponge.

And yes, BTAs reproduce both sexually (having babies) and asexually (splitting).
