Did my GSP just get killed?

This morning as I was pouring the mysis shrimp into my tank to feed my fish, I guess I didn’t do too good of a job stacking a rock. I watch it roll out of place and fall about 2-3 inches onto the sand right on top of my GSP. The GSP was covered in sand and is now closed up. I got the sand off of him and he’s been closed an hour still. Usually he dosent open up until around 11 when my lights are full force. But I wanna know is he dead or just in shock? what can I do?

No way. It’s fine. You can tear that stuff to shreds and if there’s a little bit still left on a rock it’ll still grow back.

Should be fine it’s a hardy creature and hard to kill. It’s just ticked off ive had mine close up 2 days at a clip sometimes

When things like this happen I usually take the "wife" approach. I tick her off and the only way things get better is to leave her alone for the rest of the day. Usually, she's over it within 24 hours... corals are the same way.

Today my GSP is looking like it’s in a good mood finally,, I took it out 3 days ago to brush off lil brown algae. Well they weren’t happy being manhandled for 5 minutes and stayed closed for 2 days
