What is the difference between montipora setosa capricornis, digitata, and any other monti that I forgot to add? I figure that monti cap has the typical plating look to it and the digitata branches, but what about the rest?

They are all different species with different growth forms. Some plate, some branch, some encrust, some scroll, some are massive, and some have a combination of all of the above (like confusa or undata).

Montipora is just as diverse in growth patterns and coloration as Acropora.

Here's a link you can get lost in for hours: Corals of the World - All Factsheets

Scroll down the to Montipora genus and you'll see all the recognized species and info on each.
