Yes I am most interested in member participation with the understanding this is a study
I do like when members post a picture of tank condition and if possible microscope shots.
I would be more than happy if you would like to participate :)
You can send me a sample if you would like just shoot me a pm and I will send you the info.
Here are a few tank shots:

How wide spread is it in your tank currently?
I would say that all of my rock is covered. 60%-70% has the obvious "snotty" stuff and the remaining rock has bubbles all over it. I have some brown on the sand bed, but it's not terrible at this point.

Tagging along and super excited. I've been battling (what I believe are) Dinos for 4 months. I've tried almost every cure (h202, black out, no water changes, elivated ph, raising n03, etc) without success. Just ordered metroplex. Can't wait for it to come in.

Just to update my results.

Started dosing last Sunday at the following amounts

06/19- 125mg per 10 gallons
06/20- 200mg per 10 gallons(bumped up dosage after seeing no negative effects on livestock)
06/21 - 200mg per 10 gallons

So far it's been 8 days, no visible effect on the dino in the tank.
http://m.imgur.com/a/fjanr These were taken 2 days ago but they still looks the same...if not worse.

Future plans:

Going to be sending more samples to twilliard tomorrow to see if the metroplex had the same or any effect on their structure as he had experienced.

If twilliard confirms metroplex had no visible impact under the scope for my samples, the next step will be using flagyl (should be here this week)

I will do the same dose twilliard did with flagyl and we'll be taking a third look at the sample to see if there is any difference between seachems metroplex and pharmaceutical metronidazole. Maybe my dino is immune :D but we should have a lot of info coming in regardless.

Thank you for the update!
I will be able to tell by looking within the cells if it is doing its job :)

So your first dose was 85mg of metro
Your 2nd and 3rd dose was 140mg of metro.
Definitely lower than what I am dosing.

It was 125mg per 10 gallons then 200mg per 10 gallons.

Edited the post to make it clearer I guess.

Of metroplex, right? That is only 70% of metrnidozale per dose

Correct, metroplex is 30% excipients, I had already discussed this with Todd prior to dosing. The flagyl he was using was 25% excipients so we agreed his product and metroplex were close enough to have the same results, that's why the entire thread recommendation has always been at least the 125mg, it's already been accounted for.

And those were estimates on the lower side...I was dosing heavier spoonfuls "just in case". I have a 60g estimate water volume and went through the entire 5 grams of metroplex in 3 days lol

Fair enough.
I wonder if sandbeds could be effecting our results compared to twilliards?
I noticed his tank doesnt have a sandbed?

That's a good point. Is there anyone else that has seen the results twilliard has? I am on day 3 and noticed nothing yet but I know day 10 is the day we should see something.

I think we should have a definite answer once he takes a look at the cell structure of the sample im going to send tomorrow.

not so hopeful on metro.

redid my plumbing and bubbles were as expected without peroxide.

im not being a negative nancy, but if this does work, it is not immediate and has a delay.

just my observation 2 days in.

Now we have to be patient here no good thing comes quickly in reefing, But I'm sure it will come.

seems everyone got nailed with dinos at the same time. i also got nailed with it the same time last year.

maybe there is a pollen season for them? they have circadium rhythm.

also some questions on my end.

metro's half life is 8 hours. i can see us bumping it for the lifecycle of dinos, but waiting after the 3rd dose makes me think it's usefulness is gone after 24 hours.

also, it is recommended for human use at minimum 5 days.

why arent we following this?

looking back, it seems people are dosing for 3 days and then waiting for 2 weeks.

help me fill in the gaps here.

Now as for the 5 day recommended doseage for people. I actually dose my tanks for 10 days, but I'm actually dosing my fish in there food. Now with as many different types of dinos the trick is going to be to find the length of time needed to effect even the most hardy of species. Another reason it is key for member participation on this as @twilliard has shown with samples from members with multiple different variations of the species in the home aquarium.
