At 0:50 in your video you're just zoomed in on some of the cyanobacteria but at around 1:00 you also have an out of focus single celled organism in the field with the cyanobacteria. It never quite gets in focus so take this ID with a grain of salt, but it looked like Ostreopsis sp. to me. That behavior where it is anchored and spinning around the anchor point along with the shape make it look like Ostreopsis sp. even out of focus. This is a dinoflagellate that does cause harmful blooms in aquaria (and in the wild) but unless you have great gops of it in your tank like the cyano there is no reason to concern yourself with it. It is terribly out of focus though so it could be something else entirely and I am just seeing familiar shapes.

I also am dealing with Dinos. I just started my 3 day blackout yesterday. I am considering dosing .05 ML H202 3% once a day in my nano 8G during the remainder of the blackout and after.

Any thoughts on this?

Yea i'm with him on the 3 day black out. started mine this morning.. How safe is the dosing with a tank full of coral?

I saw no adverse effects of dosing. I dosed for a week to observe my coral before a 3 day blackout. After the blackout my zoos looked better than ever. I also have acans, BTAs, favias, leathers, shrooms and a couple of chalices.

H2O2, 10ml daily on a 70g total system. 7 days before a 3 day blackout. During blackout and another 7 days after.

I said screw it and dosed it last night during my 3days blackout. I am actually reading a lot online where it should be a 3-5 day blackout so I might extend that. (praying everything makes it)

What did you use to dip them? h202?

For dips I use a 1:10 ratio H2O2:salt water for roughly 5mins. Then salt water rinse and back in the tank...

Straight peroxide lol. Most of them opened back up tonight. Plugs are all nice and clean

I'm not peroxide-dipping any more. Even at less than a capful of 2% per liter for five minutes or less, it has killed some of my corals. It affected my neon clove polyps and my montipora cap the worst - both are no more. The acan lords seemed to be okay with it, but...

I don't know how your corals will like it but a freshwater dip should kill the dinos pretty quickly.

These are growing on my background...they can be up to 6-7 cm sometimes.
