DIY 30x30x18 rimless cube!!!!

ha! tell me about it.... my employer don't wanna talk about it so rumors fly etc.... just this morning i found our building for sale online and they still deny it!!!!!!! i gotta get outta here.....:(

What ever happened to mutual respect. I found out I was loosing my job when I saw on tv that the company was leaving town. That monday there was only a note on the door saying we would receive a letter in a week or 2 about what happened. We had been asking for weeks if we should find another job and they said no.

Yeah that sounds about right... They didn't even give a explanation for the layoff, rehire it made the cover of our local paper that's how we found out...:( I mean they can tell the world but can't take 10 steps out of the office and educate us... I mean I have been here over 18yrs it's the least they can do....

Well with the ups and downs at work I had to step it up at home... Got a new toy for the garage...:xd: powermatic 66 table saw... One of the best money can buy.....

I see it now TROY LEE IN GARAGE DESIGNS  nice man i have some very hefty power tools myself i was going to ask you as i was working on my table saw the other day what blade you'd recommend for it for acrylic? A nice one!

I use tenryu or armana tool triple cut 80 to 100 tooth blades.. The non ferrous type for aluminum work better than any plastic blades IMHO....

DUDE! those have solid cast iron stands! Thats a 400 pound table saw!

Yup it just screamed that loud and clear to my back along with 3 of my neighbors lol... It took 4 of us to get it out of my truck...:(

Thats a nice saw. He's going to need to it with all the millions of request the local Vegas reefers have. I have to tell you, It's nice living the same town town as Lee. He's a stand up guy and always goes the extra mile to help out a reefer in need.

Great Minds

LOL,

I just enjoyed reading through your build thread.
I recently ? had my LEDs stop working after a year due to either storms or ?. This forced me to move back to my backup lighting a MH and Compact FLo. And when I put it up started going I really love the color of the 50/50 LEDs but was a bit disipointed in the growth that cam back with the MH and Compc Flo. As a result I decided I was putting together a triple threat lighting set up with MH T5 and LED's on my 60 Cube. Then I read your post that you have already done it and are getting good results. Just hope I can get mine as sleek as yours.

they run so smooth, that much weight, there's no vibration at all and the cuts will show it too, excellent saw for sure...makes my old cast iron Craftsman look pitiful :D

you're gonna cause his head to swell LOL he is a great guy with a head full of knowledge,it's obvious,he can build anything.....I've actually learned a thing or 2 from him :D

Man it's been awhile haha... Tank has had it's up and downs right now is a down time so I changed about 35 percent of the water with my new esv salt.... That's some crazy stuff man mixes in minutes and you can literally dump the bucket in the tank and not see any difference from it to the tank water... Looks like you took a bucket of tank water and dumped it right back in.... Curious to see how my corals react to it...:)

Do it again in a week and they'll jump out and kiss you man ;)

Will see man something is out of whack man I know it has to be my salinity my stupid refractometer tells me something different every time I use it... I calibrated it twice and re tested my water and it still shows 1.201  I just got the salinity monitor for my apex with the pm2 and I can't figure out how to read it haha..:(

screw refractometers man!!! Me and Dbarsotti were both fed up with inconsistent resulsts and we are now both using coral sea swing arm hydrometers hahaha. Both of our tanks are doing very well! They're dead on every time. I cross referenced mine with a calibrated refract and it was basically the same reading. Only thing that is really crucial is that you must have no air bubbles on the arm and you're all set. I just did a water change today using my trusty hyrdrometer and everything is looking better than ever lol.

I think people put way too much stock in the old belief that a refractometer is the only way to go for the common hobbyist. I've found them to be terribly inconsistent to the point that I gave up on them...
